Explanation
The Holy Quran was revealed to Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Iqra (meaning "Read") was the first word revealed in the Holy Quran . The first 5 verses of Surah Al-Alaq were revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Surah Al-Alaq contains the first revelation in the Holy Quran. Surah Al-Nasr was the last Surah revealed. The Quran was revealed orally by God through the archangel Gabriel (Jibril). The revelation of the Quran began in 610 CE when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was 40 years old. The Quran was revealed over 23 years , concluding in 632 CE, the year of the Prophet’s death.
