He received his early education from his maternal grandfather, Khwaja Fariduddin, learned about the workings of the courts from his uncle , Maulavi Mhammad Khalilullah. Syed Ahmed Khan received a knighthood in 1888 for his loyalty. He wanted to r econcile Western scientific education with the teachings of the Quran. yed got his first job in the court at Agra as an assistant clerk.
