The largest and the busiest inland waterways in the world is The Great Lakes and the rivers St. Lawrence in U.S.A. The Great Lakes–St. Lawrence system, the other half of the midcontinental inland waterway, is connected to the Mississippi Ohio via Chicago by canals and the Illinois River.
