There are three major Wars (overall 04) fought between India and Pakistan from 1947 to 2021 1. The first conflict over the status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir was in 1947. · It is also called as first Kashmir war. · Result: As a result of the 1947 war, Pakistan gained control of about onr-thirds of the Kashmir region. 2. The second conflict between Pakistan and India over the status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir was in 1965. · Pakistan's Operation Gibraltar is the main reason for the 1965 war. · Ayub Khan was the President of Pakistan during the Indo Pak war 1965. · Lal Bahadur Shastra was the prime minister of India during the Indo Pak war 1965. 3. The third conflict between Pakistan and India was in 1971. · Yahya Khan was the President of Pakistan during the Indo Pak war 1971. · Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India during the Indo-Pak war in 1971. 4. There is also a limited war in 1999 at Kargil between India and Pakistan.
